Confirmation

Sacrament of Confirmation

The Diocese of Venice requires a minimum of 2 continuous years of religious instruction before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Sacramental preparation for Confirmation can beging as early as the summer of a teen's 9th grade year. Preparation includes Confirmation classes and weekly high school youth night. Information and links are included below.

Confirmation Registration for the 2023-2024 Academic Year

Confirmation registration is currently closed for the 2023-2024 cycle B Confirmation classes (August 13th-October 8th, 2023).

A mandatory parent and teen meeting will be held on Sunday, October 8th after the 11:00am Mass (12:10pm-1:30pm) in the Teen Room of the Blessed Mother Center for any parents and teens who missed registration for Cycle A (June 2023 classes) and Cycle B classes (August-October 2023 classes). Please note: This is the only meeting offered in the fall for Confirmation preparation. If you are not able to attend this meeting with your teen, Confirmation preparation will be delayed for at least a year.  During the meeting, parents and teens will receive information about Confirmation, parents will have the opportunity to register their teens, and teens will have the opportunity receive class requirements that must be complete prior to starting classes June 3-June 8, 2024. This Confirmation option allows teens to complete their two years of prep and still be Confirmed in the Spring of 2025. Parents need to anticipate teens attending classes June 3-June 8, 2024 (Year 1 classes) and August-October 2024 (Year 2) session of classes.  Please RSVP to Ashley ([email protected]) if you plan on attending this meeting with your teen.

Deadline to RSVP is Friday, September 29th, 2023

Please note: In order to register your teen for Confirmation preparation at St. William, families must be registered at the parish and regularly attend Sunday Mass at St. William. You will also need copies of your teen's Baptism and 1st Communion certificates if they did not receive the sacrament at St. William. Year 1 Confirmation fees are $60.00 which will be paid at the time of registration.

Retreats, Rallies, and Youth Conference

Retreats, Rallies, and Youth Conferences offer teens the unique opportunity to "retreat" from their normal, busy, everyday life and take time to encounter the Living God through the Sacraments, community, activities, nature, and silence. This encounter with God is necessary for teens to develop their relationship with God and continue to grow in their faith. Teens are encourage to attend at least 1 retreat/rally/conference a year. Below is a list of retreats for the 2023-2024 school year. Also, links to summer camps that teens can attend with their youth group or solo are included. Camp registration opens up in September/October of the prior year. Please note, many of these camps fill up quickly. Watch the bulletin/email communication for information about camps that St. William Youth Group will be attending in the summer of 2024.
