RESPITE MINISTRY - The St. William Respite Ministry is a group of dedicated
volunteers who provide care for homebound persons. The
volunteers have had background checks and training.
They spend a few hours weekly visiting with the
homebound person in their home, so that the primary
caregiver can have some personal time to use as needed.
There is no charge for this service. If you could use
this type of help, or know of someone who might, or are
interested in knowing more about being a volunteer,
please call the Respite Ministry number, 239-263-5432.
Many caregivers have found this to be very helpful in
difficult and stressful situations. Many volunteers have
this work to be very personally rewarding. Perhaps you
might also. Call and find out.
Did You Know . . . . . . . . . . . . . the diocese requires us (and all new building projects) to have 80% of their total cost collected before construction can begin. This is why we are having this collection push this month of January, to reach that goal, because . . .
. . . . . . the “construction” phase of the project is actually when the General Contractor’s contract can be signed and subcontractors and materials can be ordered and lined up for the project to start. That is why though we will be in our present church until after Easter, we still need the 80% mentioned above so we can get things in line to start “swinging hammers” in April.
. . . . . . that last week we received a matching grant for $200,000.00 for all new moneys pledged and collected for the project in the month of January 2012!! So, any moneys pledged and collected this month over and above what we had pledged before January will be automatically doubled up to $200,000.00! That is great!
. . . . . . there will be a system installed in our new church building that will assist persons with hearing aids to hear what is being said, sung and proclaimed loud and clear. Working in conjunction with a device which is in most hearing aids, it transmits what is being put out over the PA system so that the person’s hearing aid can pick it up with the right volume and very clearly.
. . . . . . there are still pews, arcade bays, and a few other items available for naming opportunities. Just call Mike at 239-261-4883 and arrange to come in and talk about what is needed if you are interested.

A PRAYER FOR OUR CHURCH RENOVATION
Heavenly Father, as your Son tells us in the Gospel,
“If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do
the builders’ labor”. We ask you to send your Son,
the divine carpenter, to lead and empower us in our
campaign to renovate our church building, so that
our efforts may not be in vain. Grant us the grace
to make our church into an edifice that will both
glorify your name and inspire all the faithful who
enter its doors. We ask this through Christ our
Lord, Amen. St. William, pray for us.
